Lilac season may be over, but it’s never too late for a fresh, floral cocktail.
I got this lilac gin for a birthday gift, and it’s been making appearances in summer cocktails for the past few months. If you can find it, it’s worth a try.
A particularly good application for it is in the classic Bee’s Knees cocktail. Traditionally made with gin, lemon and honey, it’s almost begging for a floral twist.
lilac bee’s knees
2 oz. black button lilac gin
1 oz. lemon juice
3/4 oz. honey syrup (equal parts honey and hot water, stirred to dissolve honey)
Shake and strain. Garnish with a lemon twist.
